USO of North Carolina hosts educational seminar for military children and their parents

9/21/2011 - Goldsboro, N.C. -- The USO of North Carolina is hosting a new and exciting educational seminar on reading and studying skills for elementary and middle school-aged military children and their parents on Thursday evening, Sep. 29, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Hall, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

The North Carolina Reading Association developed the seminars which will be instructed by passionate and knowledgeable educators from across the state who understands the challenges military families go through on a daily basis to include PCS moves and deployments.

Three seminars will be held concurrently with one tailored for elementary school parents and their children that provides proven reading development tips. The other two seminars focus on methods to create good study habits, one seminar is designed for middle school children and the other for their parents.

The intent of the seminars are to offer critical insights on topics such as questioning techniques that will make the most out of your child's reading and how to assess and use your child's particular learning style to enhance their studying skills.
