The 916th is the first unit equipped Wing to receive the KC-46A Pegasus in Air Force Reserve Command.  The Wing’s first KC-46 arrived in June 2020, and the conversion process is expected to be complete within two years.  Once fully equipped the wing will have a 12 KC-46A Pegasus on its flightline.

The 916th Air Refueling Wing’s peacetime mission is to develop and maintain operational capability, and to train and equip its Reserve Citizen Airmen.

The 916th Air Refueling Wing is comprised of three groups, 916th Operations Group, 916th Maintenance Group, 916th Mission Support Group, the 916th aero-medicine squadron and the wing staff. Each group and section carries out a specific role in relationship to our federal and local mission.

In conjunction with the 4th Fighter Wing and the Goldsboro Travel and Tourism department, the 916th Air Refueling Wing participates in the Goldsboro City Tour.
