SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Col. Fritz Linsenmeyer (front left) swears in nine new recruits to the 916th Air Refueling Wing during the East Carolina University football game. The mass enlistment was part of a nation-wide Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting initiative held Oct. 1-14. More than 42,000 fans were in attendance at the game against the University of Central Florida and witnessed the oath of enlistment being administered. Col. Linsenmeyer is the wing commander of the 916th Air Refueling Wing. He was joined on the field by Command Chief Master Sgt. WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, OHIO -- Senior Master Sgt. Kevin Matteson ran the Air Force Marathon in mid-September. Sergeant Matteson is a vehicle maintenance superintendant with the 916th Logistics Readiness Squadron located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Col. Fritz Linsenmeyer, commander of the 916th Air Refueling Wing, Air Force Reserve, addresses membership of the Wayne County commuity during the bi-monthly base community council luncheon in late September. 

The Base Community Council includes representatives from the city, county and base to maintain continuous working partnerships between the military and the citizens of Goldsboro and Wayne County.  Membership consists of 25 community and 22 senior Air Force representatives.  The BCC encourages every major phase of community living and contributes to the mutual adjustment and benefit of the military and civilian neighbors.  Meetings are held third Thursday of every other month while alternating hosting the luncheon between the county, base and city.  The 4th Fighter Wing commander,916th commander, mayor of Goldsboro and chairman of the Wayne County Board of Commissioners serve as permanent co-chairmen and address the group at each meeting.

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C.-- Monthly base tours sponsored by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, the 4th Fighter Wing and 916th Air Refueling Wing, Air Force Reserve, started here this week. Members of the community interested in seeing an F-15 and KC-135 static display can register for the two-hour tour through the chamber of commerce. Default Air Force Logo Officials announce open registration to Air Force symposium
Air University officials here recently announced open registration to the 2007 Air Force Heritage to Horizons Women's Training Symposium scheduled for Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. The symposium at the Waterford Receptions in Springfield, Va., is open to women and men who have served or are serving in the U.S. armed forces and Department of Defense civilians.

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Civic leaders from the regional area were able to get up close and personal with members of the 916th Air Refueling Wing, Air Force Reserve, during a local civic leader flight. Twice a year the wing hosts these public affairs flights that allow influential business and community leaders a chance to fly with the Reserve wing and see the air-to-air refueling mission.
