Reserve Airmen learn leadership lessons early Published Sept. 20, 2007 By Master Sgt. Shane Lynch 916th Air Refueling Wing SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- While the staff sergeants and technical sergeants of the 916th Communication Squadron participated in the Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership and Development Program (NCOLDP) during their August annual training, their Airmen were engaged in professional development as well. A newly created Airman Professional Development Seminar covered topics ranging from leadership, core values and ethics to letters of counseling and reprimand and enlisted performance reports. The seminar was completed over two days and was taught in-house by senior non-commissioned officers. "This was a great opportunity for our senior leadership to mentor our Airmen," said Lt Col. James T. Horton, the commander for the 916th Communication Squadron. "It also gives the Airmen an opportunity to broaden their military knowledge as they become our leaders of tomorrow. I am very proud of every member in my unit."
