How the Navy's WWI Railguns Devastated the Enemy

Long-range German artillery was quite effective during World War I, and, unfortunately, Allied counter fire didn't have sufficient range to counter the threat. So, the Navy approved mounting 14-inch guns to railway cars. The result was a railroad gun that could hit well behind the German lines with devastating results.
