Service that makes the cut: Mass. Soldier, master barber travels state during COVID-19
Massachusetts National Guard Public Affairs
May 27, 2020 | 2:19
Traditionally a senior gunner, Sgt. 1st Class Joel Klinker first set up “shop” at the Massachusetts National Guard Joint Force Headquarters, offering a service highly sought after since the coronavirus pandemic started.
“Sir, I’m a master barber, if you need me to set up, let me know,” spoke up Sgt. 1st Class Joel Klinker at the Joint Operations Center in Massachusetts, when the command mentioned that activated guard members throughout the state were in need of haircuts.
Since then, Klinker has traveled all over the commonwealth to locations where Soldier's have been activated to perform haircuts. Klinker's mentorship during this time helps guard members with a safe zone to discuss their ideas and struggles.
