Sagarika Koirala, a combat medic, originally from Nepal, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, helps with COVID relief efforts at the California State University Los Angeles Community Vaccination Center March 24, 2021. Koirala was inspired to become a medic after seeing doctors help casualties injured in conflicts in the Middle East. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
