In preparation for Operation Kalak Hode, paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division move heavy radar equipment through the use of a sling load. Sling loads involve strapping heavy loads to aircraft, allowing it to be airlifted to new locations around Afghanistan. The process quickly brings this, and other pieces of equipment, to forward operating locations, increasing combat effectiveness. Photos by Petty Officer 2nd Class Jimmie Crockett. Produced by Spc. Fred Brown. Also available in high definition.
