Sept. 12, 2019 | 2:12
Valkenburg, the Netherlands - WWII veterans who served with the 30th Infantry Division, known as Old Hickory, are honored by the town of Valkenburg at the Old Hickory Bridge on September 13th, 2019, 75 years after they helped liberate the area from German occupation in 1944. Four WWII Veterans who served in the 30th Infantry Division, traveled to the Netherlands with North Carolina National Guard Soldiers to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of the Limburg Province in the Netherlands. The NCNG’s 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team traces its lineage to the 30th Inf. Div. and still wears the same unit patch.
WWII Veteran Tony Jaber and NCNG Capt. Sean Daily talk about their experiences during the celebration.
