Nellis Air Force base’s 57th Wing recently performed a change of command ceremony. Air Force Staff Sgt. Colleen Urban takes us to the Nellis flight line to witness the military tradition. Transcript: The 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base recently hosted a Change of Command ceremony, as Brig Gen Terrance O’Shaughnessy relinquished command to Brig Gen Charles Moore. - Maj Gen Hyatt Soundbite: “This is an important day for the 57th wing. A wing that is one of the more storied and diverse wings in the United States Air Force. Four groups, thirty nine squadron, twelve geographically separated units, scattered across 13 states have made the 57th wing world renowned for its treat replication, its maintenance, its advance training, its precision flying, and its all-domain integrated combat prowess.” After 18 months as the commander, Brig Gen O’Shaughnessy spoke about the positive changes made during his time as commander and conveyed his pride for the 57th wing. - Brig Gen O’Shaughnessy Soundbite: “What an amazing wing this is, so please know I am so very proud of all your accomplishments. It’s been an honor and a privilege unlike any other to command this great wing, the great airmen of the 57th wing, bulls eye airmen, best of the best, and we were privileged to be part of this wing and the greatest air force the world has ever seen .” Brig Gen Moore expressed his expectations for the future of the 57th wing as their new commander. - Brig Gen Moore Soundbite: “By working together and never accepting anything less than excellence we will ensure that the 57th wing and team Nellis continue to provide full spectrum advanced realistic and relevant training for our airman, our joint and coalition partners. ” The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the flagship naming and carried on the tradition of transferring responsibility and leadership from one commander to another.
