  • Expanding Capabilities: 414th FG leads flying ops

    In an effort to expand capabilities, the 414th FG, a subordinate unit to the 944th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, successfully launched four F-15E Strike Eagle training sorties on Saturday of the UTA. The effort involved members of the 414th Maintenance Squadron, 307th Fighter Squadron, and the 4th Fighter Wing’s 336th Fighter Squadron.

    When flood waters rise, the community of Goldsboro can count on their friends at the 916th Air Refueling Wing to lend a hand and protect what matters. On February 19, Senior Master Sgt. Ian Gardner received a call from a troubled former 916th member who needed immediate assistance. Pastor Les Caper, who retired from the wing in 2006 after serving as a survival equipment technician with Gardner, needed help fortifying his church, St Joseph’s Free Will Baptist Church, against potential flooding.

The 916th Air Refueling Wing recognizes this and set out on a path for growth by creating the Elephant in the Room discussion forum. The Elephant in the Room began as an idea engineered by Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Greene, 916th AMXS First Sergeant and Senior Master Sgt. Rebecca J. Wyatt, 567th Red Horse Squadron First Sergeant and others within the 916th. They wanted a safe platform for some of the harder discussions sparked by recent events.
