Meeting the media; 911th prepares to activate
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Lt. Col. Bill Uptmor (left) and Chief Master Sgt. Garry Seay (right) talk with Goldsboro News Argus Reporter Ken Fine about the 911th Air Refueling Squadron activation this weekend. Colonel Uptmor is the new active duty squadron commander and Chief Seay is the squadron's superintendant. The 911th ARS will integrate with the Air Force Reserve's 916th Air Refueling Wing becoming the first Active-associate unit in Air Force history. The activation ceremony will take place at 9:11am on Saturday morning and the squadron hopes to be fully manned with 260 active duty troops by the end of summer. U.S. Air Force photo/Capt.
