Scher takes over as ground safety manager
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Master Sgt. Chris Scher (right) talks with Airman First Class Elven Mckay of the 911th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Sergeant Scher is the new ground safety manager for the 916th Air Refueling Wing. Sergeant Scher has a background in firefighting and EMT and was appointed as the 916th Maintenance Group safety monitor in the 1990s. "My main interest in this job is providing assistance to ensure safe and healthy environments for our members to work in," said Sgt. Scher. "My goal is to prevent mishaps by providing safety awareness throughout all areas of the wing. I want to give members the knowledge to prevent mishaps not only at work but at home as well."
