First Guantanamo, now Ironman
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Lt. Col. Tim Lamb (right) poses with Maj. Shawn Ortiz and Navy Lt. Cmdr. Dallas Johnson (left) after finishing the Guantanamo Bay Extreme. Colonel Lamb, a Reservist with the 916th Mission Support Group, competed in the two-day event while stationed in Quba earlier this year. The event consisted of a three-mile kayak race, 10-mile bike ride, 12-mile run, one-mile open water swim, eight-mile navigated land run/walk and completion of the Marine Corps obstacle course. While deployed Col. Lamb served in the Office for the Administrative Review of the Detention of Enemy Combatants as an adminstrative review board member. He plans to compete in a half- Ironman contest in early May.
