916th honors flag with official retirement ceremony

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 916th Air Refueling Wing, Air Force Reserve, honored our nation's flag on Sunday of the September UTA by hosting an official flag retirement ceremony. Members of the wing participated with family members and local boy scout troops, nearly 100 people attended the event. Official guidance put forth by Congress dictates that worn, torn, faded and badly soiled flags should be retired and burned during an official ceremony.
