Eighteen members of the wing, that haven't yet completed Air Force Basic Military Training, are learning that their service isn't just to their nation, but to their community.

In September, members of the 916th Air Refueling Wing Development and Training Flight, along with Reserve mentors, adopted a stretch of highway near Spring Bank Road in Goldsboro and spent a few hours cleaning a few miles.

Their Air Force Reserve mentors wanted to show the future Airmen the importance of the commitment they made to the Reserve, but also the importance in helping out the local area by getting them involved in different activities.

Over the last few years this dedicated group of future Airmen have helped at several local community fairs and participated in many wing events such as the wing Warrior Runs and the Christmas tree contest for charity.

Members are slated to leave for BMT at different times, but while they await their report dates they come to the wing to learn about the military and the sections they'll be reporting back to after technical school.
