This season's 2013 Holiday Mail for Heroes program is in full swing, meaning that Americans who wish to send a holiday card to a service member can easily do so with the help of the Red Cross.

The 916th Air Refueling Wing and the 4th Fighter Wing here will kick-off the program on Nov. 1, 2013 with a card signing reception in the Maj. Robert Woods Auditorium on-base.

Staff, family and friends with access to base along with government officials, Red Cross staff and volunteers are welcome to join the festivities that start at 10am and end at 1pm.

"We hosted this event last year," said Col. Greg Gilmour, commander of the 916th Air Refueling Wing. "It was a great program. Airmen and their families turned out to make and send cards overseas and we couldn't have done it without the wonderful support of the Red Cross."

Media interested in attending can contact Josh Cain of the American Red Cross at: joshua.cain@redcross.org no later than Oct. 25, 2013.
