916th Air Refueling Wing first sergeants are planning a "job fair" during the August drill weekend to recruit and inform those interested in joining the career field.

The information session is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, in the 916th Security Forces Squadron facility; building 4817, in the first floor classroom.

"The purpose is to answer any questions about being a first sergeant, hand out application information and help anyone who is possibly interested," said Chief Master Sgt. James Loper, 916th ARW command chief.

Airmen of all ranks are invited, including those from other units and bases, added Loper. Individuals with a long term goal of becoming a first sergeant, as well as those who are immediately eligible to re-train are encouraged to attend.

"We need quality first sergeants and new candidates don't necessarily need to come from within the wing," said Loper. "For anyone interested in the opportunity, please stop by and see if this demanding career field is for you."

Criteria for becoming a first sergeant:

-Tech. Sgt. with at least two years, time in grade
-Skill commensurate with grade
-More than four years from high year of tenure
-Last three Enlisted Performance Reports graded as an overall "5"
-Last two physical fitness test scores of more than 80, or most recent test more than 90
-No component failures or exemptions in the last 12 months
-No Article 15 or Unfavorable Information Files within the last three years
-Have Community College of the Air Force degree, or be within 12 months of graduation
