Gov. McCrory recognizes 916th Airman at holiday event

Tech. Sgt. William Opoku, 916th Air Refueling Wing knowledge operations manager, and his family, joined North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh, for 'A Merry Christmas Morning for our Heroes' event, Dec. 13, 2014.

Members of the armed forces and their families from many N.C. military installations, including Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, gathered at the Mansion for a holiday reception featuring a ribbon cutting, family photos, Victorian carolers, cookies, crafts for children and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus., according to the Office of the Governor. The event was held to express gratitude to military personnel and families for their sacrifices throughout the year.
