Holiday spirit was in full effect over in the 916th Operations Support Squadron recently as members came together for a good cause and had a little fun at the expense of one of their own.

The 916th Combat Crew Communications shop, along with the help of the 916th OSS administration office, "locked up" Crew Comm Superintendent Master Sgt. Beverley Hoskins.

A 4th Fighter Wing Security Forces K-9 unit showed up at their office and handcuffed Hoskins. They then took her away to the Security Forces building for booking -- complete with mugshot showing her "prisoner number."

It was all part of the Second Annual Santa Lock-up fundraiser sponsored by the 4th SFS. Proceeds raised during the event were donated to Team Seymour Operation Warm Hearts, a charitable organization which helps military families, especially around the holidays.

Because the 916th OSS raised a certain amount of money, Hoskins received the "special visit" from the base cops.

A witness to the "arrest" described Hoskins as very surprised but remained a good sport even as she was put in handcuffs. "I have never been in handcuffs before in my entire life!" Hoskins reportedly said.

"Then the police officer said 'well ma'am, there's a first for everything,'" said the witness, who wished to remain anonymous.

At one dollar per minute to have anyone on Seymour Johnson AFB locked up, Security Forces raised more than $1,500 from people paying to have several base members "incarcerated" over the two-day event.

Hoskins spent nearly an hour in Santa jail, but was granted an early release for good behavior.
