Duarte's Quick Response Saves the Life of Trainee

TSgt Monica Duarte, Development and Training Flight Chief, for the 916th Air Refueling Wing. During the June UTA Duarte was giving the training flight a mock physical fitness assessment at the track on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. when one of the trainees fell out and their heart stopped. Duarte rushed into action, her quick response to the situation saved the young trainee’s life. She credits her training for remaining calm and to following protocol throughout the incident. Duarte also gives praise to her fellow Airmen who helped resuscitate the fallen trainee
