For most students experience can make all the difference in the world when it comes time to leaving school and beginning their careers. Unfortunately, the old saying is true that in order to get experience you need experience.

This is where the Student Education Employment Program benefits the 916th Air Refueling Wing as well as the students that are hired.

"Personally, I think the STEP program is great," said Senior Master Sgt. Andre' Kirk, chief of military personnel programs with the 916th ARW.

There are six authorized positions here and all of them are administrative support positions.

Sergeant Kirk explained that all six positions, which are located with the military personnel flight, security forces squadron, 916th maintenance group, 916th and 716th communications flights, are occupied.

"The program allows the 916th to have part time help without the cost of bringing an employee on full time," added Sergeant Kirk.

Although the program has been around for about 8 years, this is the first active year at the 916th.
