New wing commander named for Reserve flying wing

On Thursday, Col. Stephen 'Fritz' Linsenmeyer was announced as the new wing commander for the 916th Air Refueling Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. 

Colonel Linsenmeyer will replace Col. Paul Sykes during an official change of command ceremony on July 14. 

Col. Linsenmeyer is currently the Operations Group Commander at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind. He is an instructor and evaluator pilot in the KC-135R Stratotanker and has more than 3,800 flying hours. 

He joined the military in 1981 after completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from John Carroll University. He later received a master's degree in personnel administration from Golden Gate University. 

He will return to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base having served here for three years in the 1990s flying the KC-10A air-to-air refueler.
