James G. Rebholz appointed National Chairman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates has appointed James G. Rebholz, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the National Chairman of the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency whose mission is to gain and maintain employer support from all public and private employers for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve.

"Mr. Rebholz has been very active in ESGR activities on a local, regional and national level since 1983 and his assistance in developing the first five year Strategic Plan for NCESGR is indicative of his passion and dedication to the agency," said Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs Thomas F. Hall.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Rebholz served as Chair of the Wisconsin Committee of ESGR and chaired ESGR's national strategic planning subcommittee.

Mr. Rebholz has been an independent insurance agent for over 41 years. Complementing his role as a business leader, Mr. Rebholz retired from the United States Air Force Reserve, with the rank of Colonel, in 1998 after 31 years of service. He recently completed a term as National President of the Reserve Officers Association and has served as United States Secretary General to the International Confederation of Reserve Officers. Mr. Rebholz has a long history of community service both as a volunteer and executive.

Mr. Rebholz graduated from Marquette University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in both English and Philosophy. Mr. Rebholz has been married to the former Jean Boser for 33 years and they have six children.
