Editor's note:  Staff Sgt. Charles Alford is a Reservist with the 916th Communication Squadron as a computer maintenance apprentice. Earlier this year he returned home from a deployment to Iraq and is now deployed to Honduras. His note below reflects his pride of service during the Air Force's 60th anniversary.

It doesn't matter where you are 60 years as a service and counting the Air
Force is stronger today than ever. Integrity, service, and excellence are
the enduring cornerstones of the United States Air Force, and discipline is
at the core of all three.

Remembering and honoring 60 years happened all
over the globe including right here at Soto Canto Air Base, Honduras. We
celebrated with cake, a PowerPoint slide show displaying our history,
aircraft and service of members leaving an outstanding mark in Air Force
history.

Sept.18, 1947 through the decades to Sept. 18, 2007 --
the United States Air Force providing protection, comfort and freedom for
the United States of America and its allies.
