Chaplains give Top 10 list for a thankful holiday Published Nov. 20, 2008 By Chaplain Carol Yeager 916th Chaplain's Office SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- As Thanksgiving approaches here is a fun way for us to develop an attitude of gratitude, brought to you by the 916th Air Refueling Wing chapel staff. Air Force top 10 reasons to be thankful: 10. When your family complains that you have to go TDY (again!), be thankful that they miss you when you're gone. 9. When your uniform fits a little tight, be thankful that you have plenty to eat. 8. When you are tired after working all day on the flight line, be thankful that you have a job. 7. When people complain about our government, be thankful that we serve a country that stands for freedom of speech. 6. When you take your annual fitness test, be thankful that you can exercise. 5. When you are waiting in line for your flu shot be thankful that you are authorized to receive one free. 4. When you have to drive slow in front of the CDC be thankful for the children who are a part of our Air Force family. 3. When your spouse wakes you up on Sunday to go to Chapel be thankful that you have the freedom to worship. 2. When your supervisor gives you an additional duty be thankful that s/he believes in your ability to get the job done. 1. When you can't talk to your co-worker, sleep at night or walk outside without covering your ears because of the jet noise be thankful because that is the sound of FREEDOM!
