Wing gives first-ever public affairs award
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 916th Communication Squadron stands together as the first recipient of the 916th Air Refueling Wing Unit Public Affairs Representative Program Award. The UPAR Award is presented to the squadron that contributes the most to the wing's public affairs program throughout the previous fiscal year. The award, which is one-of-a-kind, is an eagle head with a quill which represents the public affairs career field and was made by chainsaw artist Ted Scherer. The award was presented to Lt. Col. Tim Horton, squadron commander, during the December Wing Commander's Call.
