Engineer squadron becomes flight Published March 4, 2009 SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 916th Civil Engineer Squadron will be redesignated as the 916th Civil Engineer Flight during the March unit training assembly. Nearly 100 Reserve engineers will leave the squadron through retirements and transfers to other locations to include the new 567th RED HORSE Squadron, activating here on March 7. The flight will employ roughly 40 reservists, down from nearly 150, but the new Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron will employ 200 reservists for its highly mobile, worldwide response force. Redesignation and activation events for both units are planned for Saturday morning.
