The newest chapter of the Airlift Tanker Association isn't just recruiting, they are volunteering and making a difference.

In August, 16 members of the Kitty Hawk Chapter that started here at the 916th Air Refueling Wing volunteered their time and talents to support Habitat for Humanity. The volunteers were active duty members with the 911th Air Refueling Squadron and Reserve members from various squadrons at the 916th. They came together on a warm weekend to help build the framework of a new home in Wayne County.

With 40 current members, the new chapter is hoping to add a lot more names to their roster.

"The big push this fall is looking for members since we just received our national charter," said Capt. Jessica Guarini, KC-135R pilot and founding member. "Additionally we're looking at making a showing at the national convention in October."

The group is planning their next volunteer event on Sept. 17th at a local retirement facility.
