916th refuels Thunderbirds bound for Guam

Typhoon Melore didn't stop the Andersen Air Show in Guam, it just postponed it.

While crews and jets were diverted from the storm's fury to other islands in the Pacific, organizers were determined that the show would go on.

Roughly a week after its original date, the air show occured on Oct. 7. Stratotankers deployed to Guam from the 916th Air Refueling Wing had the honor of refueling F-16 Fighting Falcons from the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds over Saipan. The Thunderbirds were headlining the air show and needed fuel to get there. The 916th was happy to supply.

Nearly 150 reservists and active duty members of the Seymour Johnson wing are currently deployed to Guam.
