SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Meet Staff Sgt. Richard Shaffer, a knowledge operations manager with the 916th Operations Group.

Q. What made you decide to join the Air Force Reserve?
A. I was active duty for 10.5 years. I separated active duty and became an Air Reserve Technician.

Q. What do you like most about your Air Force Reserve job?
A. I enjoy the Reserve because it allows me the opportunity to interact with numerous people with many different backgrounds.

Q. What is your favorite book?
A. My favorite book would have to be the book I read to my daughter the most which is Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Q. What is your favorite holiday activity?
A. My favorite holiday activity would be eating Thanksgiving dinner with family.

Q. What is your favorite drill weekend hangout in Goldsboro?
A. I enjoy going to Hams or Applebee's on drillweekends.
