Governor signs statement of support

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --  On Feb. 16, 2010, five members of the 916th Air Refueling Wing were present in Raleigh to witness a historical moment.

Gov. Bev  Perdue signed the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve 'Statement of Support,' demonstrating her and North Carolina's support for our Guard and Reserve
members.

The event, which was held in Raleigh, was sponsored by the Employer Support of
the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). ESGR is an agency within the Department of
Defense that works to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve
component members and their civilian employers. The group and its 4,200
volunteers recognize outstanding support, increase awareness of the law
concerning military leave and resolve conflict through mediation.

Col. Linsenmeyer, Senior Master Sgt. Sterling, Tech. Sgt. Brewer and Staff Sgt. Millner were among the distinguished guests that were invited to attend.
