Somebunny cares

If you've been around the 916th Air Refueling Wing for at least a year then you know about the outstanding community outreach efforts of the local Airlift Tanker Association Kitty Hawk chapter.

Each month, this group of dedicated retirees, active duty and Reserve Airmen donate their time to help causes in the community, and have a little fun once in awhile.

In April, the group made a visit to The Pines in Goldsboro, a retirement community not far from Seymour Johnson. Volunteers spent the evening delivering homemade and purchased Easter cards and sharing some time with the residents.

"It was fun listening to their stories about grandchildren, seeing them hug the kids, tell stories of family members in the military, and especially seeing them smile," said Capt. Aaron Marx, a pilot with the 911th Air Refueling Squadron. "Everyone's effort made a difference in making this day special to about 100 residents."

The group hopes to do this again in the future.
