Wayne County seeks juniors for leadership course Published Aug. 30, 2010 SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Are you a high school junior with leadership potential? Do you want to learn more about Wayne County? If you answered yes to both questions, the 2010-2011 Junior Leadership Wayne County Program is for you! Applications are available at all high schools in the county and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. Participants will begin the program with a one-day orientation and then spend six days throughout the year focusing on a variety of topics. Participants will have an opportunity to visit places involving local government, industry, healthcare, history, education, military, and agri-business. The students will learn more about our multi-faceted county. They will learn about career opportunities they may not have considered. Junior Leadership Wayne County is open to all juniors who attend public, private, home school, or parochial schools located in Wayne County. Applicants must have a solid "B" or above average and demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities. The application deadline is September 20th.
