SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Mark Sigler has left the base.

While the 916th Operations Support Squadron commander may not have the same legendary following as rock icon Elvis, he was respected and adored by many here at the 916th Air Refueling Wing.

The colonel leaves the Goldsboro wing to take the lead as operations group commander at one of largest Reserve bases in the nation, March Air Reserve Base, Calif.

Colonel Sigler told a crowd that gathered for his farewell luncheon this week that the 916th will always have a special place with him. He said the small tanker wing might not seem like much to the outside, but the people in the wing are what make it what it is and "you've got a lot of heart," he said.
