Bird is the word

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The 916th is chirping with the latest results of the colonel promotion board.

Three reservists from the tanker wing were selected along with 215 other officers to pin on the rank of full bird colonel.

Lt. Col. Charles Combs, 916th Maintenance Group commander, Lt. Col. Scheid Hodges, 77th Air Refueling Squadron commander and Lt. Col. Brian Davis, 77th ARS operations officer, were among a pool of more than 1,700 officers considered for the prestigious rank.

The colonels-select received the good news last month; however none have pinned on the rank just yet. After Senate confirmation, officers will be promoted in increments announced by HQ USAF/REP.
