Commander pins on new rank

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --  The 916th Air Refueling Wing Maintenance Group commander became the newest colonel at the wing on Friday, March 18th when he pinned on his new rank during an official ceremony.

Colonel Charles Combs pinned on the rank in front of roughly 100 people gathered in the wing's corrosion control hangar on Friday morning. The colonel was officially able to pin in early March, but chose a later date so that his family and friends could be present for the event.

Col. Cam LeBlanc, a past commander of Col. Combs, presided over the ceremony and pinned the new rank on along with Col. Combs' wife, Denise.

Col. Combs arrived at the 916th ARW in July 2009.
