It would have been deemed past the point of being a five-alarm fire...had there been a fire.

Nearly a dozen fire trucks lined up outside the Goldsboro Sam's Club on Wednesday April 13. There were even more firefighters present from places like Mount Olive, Pikeville and Seymour Johnson there to be recognized for their service.

But among the firefighters stood four members of the 916th Air Refueling Wing. Their accomplishments and dedication to service were also being recognized by the community.

Mr. Beverly Lipford of the Operations Group, Senior Master Sgt. Matt Turcotte of the Maintenance Group and Senior Airman Desmond Faison of the Mission Support Group were honored by the community for being named the best performers in teh 916th for 2010. Tech. Sgt. Brian Nash, 916th Security Forces, was honored for his service in an upcoming deployment.  Col. Caroline Evernham received Airman Faison's award in his absence.

The four stood among prominent members of the community such as Mayor Al King and Chamber of Commerce president Marian Mason. Nearly 200 people were there to witness the short ceremony that let these volunteers know how much they're appreciated.
