Earlier this year, Ms. Emily Bruckner was named Air Force Reserve Command's Outstanding Civil Engineer Manager of the Year for 2010. In May she accepted her award at the annual Air Force Reserve Command Civil Engineer and RED HORSE Commander's Conference.

Ms. Bruckner is a management assistant for the rapid deployable engineering squadron. In the past year, her direct efforts led to 4,900 training actions being accurately executed; to the squadron establishing a benchmark weapons program that received attention from the unit's numbered Air Force and for planning the grand opening of the 82,000 square feet RED HORSE compound.

In addition to her service with the unit, Ms. Bruckner excelled in her service to the community. She served as an adult leader at the AFRC Teen Leadership Summit, helping teens cope with deployment issues; volunteered her time to work with the regional high school cross country challenge and completed her bachelor's in psychology with a minor in pre-med.

"She is energetic and creative, always introducing fresh and new ideas to make others and herself better," said Col. Timothy Lamb, commander of the 567th RED HORSE. "She is our best and brightest young talent."
