If you were here in the early 1990s, the name Miller might ring a bell. In the early history of the 916th Air Refueling Wing, John Miller was an Air Force Reserve commander here.

Fast-forward to 2011, when the family lineage steps up to take command here again.

On Saturday Aug. 6, a new Miller, Lt. Col. Douglas Miller, assumed command of the 916th Operations Support Squadron.

Douglas Miller earned his commission through the ROTC program at Oklahoma State University. After several tours on active duty he joined the Air Force Reserve in 2002 in Portland, Ore.

Miller is a qualified C-5 and KC-135R pilot and has more than 200 combat hours and more than 3,800 military and civilian flight hours.  He comes to the 916th Air Refueling Wing from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. where he served as the 349th Airlift Wing's Operations Group Training chief.
