The 916th Air Refueling Wing finished its 25th anniversary celebration with a bit of Halloween fun today.

The wing hosted its semi-annual Warrior Run/Walk at 7:30am, but added a special twist by encouraging members to wear costumes.

The Logistics Readiness Squadron had the most squadron participation with 65 Airmen participating in the two-mile run/walk. The 916th Training Flight, which includes members preparing to leave for basic military training, came in second with 50 people participating. The 414th Fighter Squadron even took part in the fun and came in third with participation of more than 20 Airmen.

Not only did LRS lead the charge in participation, but their officers led in the fun as well. Lt. Col. Cherie Roff, logistics readiness commander, won third place in the costume contest for dressing as Grizabella the Glamour Cat from the Broadway production of Cats. Capt. Lori Bartz, logistics officer, won second place for her costume as Wolverine.

While the LRS may have won the top participation prize, the best costume prize went to Aircrew Flight Equipment's Tech. Sgt. Ian Gardner for his Aqua Man outfit.

Prizes were also awarded for the best finishers in the various age categories. The following Airmen ran the fastest today:

Col Randy Ogden, wing commander (over 50 category)
Col. Caroline Evernham, operations group commander (over 50 category)
Lt. Col. Doug Miller, operations support squadron commander (40-49 category)
Lt. Col. Ann Brown, mission support group deputy commander (40-49 category)
Senior Airman Zeddie Cromartie, logistics readiness squadron/trans (30-39 category)
Maj. Nicole Hurley, aerospace medicine flight/yellow ribbon coordinator (30-39 category)

Staff Sgt. Misael Hidalgo, 414th Fighter Squadron was the fastest male finisher and 916th Training Flight member Sha'kera Rodriguez was the fastest female finisher overall.

More than 175 people participated in the morale event. The next semi-annual Warrior Run will be held during the May 2012 unit training assembly weekend.
