Force Support Squadron celebrates new commander, new year

Just one year ago they merged.

The 916th Services Flight joined the Mission Support Flight to become the Force Support Squadron.

Two weeks ago, in late October, they welcomed their new commander, Maj. Dustin Pawlak.

Pawlak, formerly the 916th Air Refueling Wing Mission Support Group executive officer, took his part-time career in the Air Force Reserve to a new level. One of working full-time, and leading.

The new commander was quick to set aside time for his people to reflect on their first year as a squadron, and set future goals for the road ahead.

The October drill weekend held the pomp and circumstance that comes with a formal change of command ceremony, but on the November drill weekend the reservists closed up shop a bit early just to relax, eat and enjoy each other's company.

Pawlak can now be seen full-time in the 916th Wing Headquarters Building where the majority of the FSS has offices.
