Family Day fundraiser supports 916th Published Aug. 6, 2012 916th Public Affairs Office SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- It's no secret that in these tough economic times, funds are tight everywhere. This includes events that bolster morale and help Airmen say thanks to a critical part of their success...their families. The 2012 Family Day is set for late October, but in order to support the more than 1,500 active duty and Reserve Airmen and their families that will atttend the celebration takes some cash. During the August drill weekend the Family Day Planning Committee, in conjunction with the squadrons, held a silent auction. Squadrons and groups created baskets that went to the highest bidders. Basket contents ranged from Italien delicacies to tools. The fundraiser generated more than $600 that will be put toward the October event.
