A Goldsboro, N.C., radio talk show that's been shining the spotlight on Seymour Johnson  Airmen for more than half a century is looking for a few good men and women ... to interview.

Called Soundscope, the show consists of short, insightful interviews with the people of the base. Hosted by Dr. Roy Heidicker, 4th Fighter Wing historian, the show depends on participants interested in sharing a little about their lives in and out of the military.

Heidicker, who took the reins of the show this year from long-time host Bob Hill, recently spent a day with the 916th Air Refueling Wing, interviewing members from all squadrons.

"It never ceases to amaze me the variety of experiences people have who are part of the Seymour Johnson family," he said. "They're not just an A1C, Airman, or Tech. Sgt, they're absolutely fascinating people who do interesting things above and beyond being a reservist."

With a show that's been active in the Goldsboro area since 1956, Soundscope has been a steadfast part of Wayne County residents' morning routine. "We have a relationship with the community that is second to none," Heidicker said. "When people in Goldsboro turn on the biggest local talk radio show and hear Airmen talk a little about who they are, where they're from, and what they do, people love that."

916th interviews will debut in 2013.

To experience Soundscope, tune in to WGBR 1150 weekdays at 6:45 a.m. If you have an interesting story to share, contact 916ARW public affairs to coordinate an interview.
