More than 100 inspectors from Air Force Reserve Command and Air Mobility Command made a pre-Christmas visit to the 916th Air Refueling Wing during December's unit training assembly.

They had made their lists, checked them twice, and were going around the wing to find out who's been naughty or nice.

Inspection teams observed the plans, programs and procedures of every aspect of the wing, in areas such as aircraft maintenance, operations, logistics, civil engineering and medical.

Wing members started preparing for these inspections many months ago, knowing that even the smallest of details would be given close scrutiny.

"We've been getting ready for a while now," said Maj. Christopher A. Magee, 916th Mission Support Group executive officer. "I think the inspection went well."

With the inspection now behind him, Magee said he can focus on something more enjoyable.

"Now I can start getting prepared for Christmas," he said.

Brig. Gen. John J. Mooney, III, AFRC inspector general, took the stage on Tues. Dec. 18 to provide the overall grades for the combined compliance inspection.

"There were some shiny pennies," the general told the crowd. "And other programs that need some work."

The general encouraged the audience to look at the inspections as a learning experience and left them with 'be proud of what you are doing here."

These were no Scrooges though, as this inspection team also handed out some "gifts" along with their report during the outbrief.

Top performance awards were given to 19 individuals from a wide variety of sections. Those recognized by the IG team will receive their awards during a commander's call scheduled for the January unit training assembly weekend. The individuals recognized as superior performers are:
