916th wins best in command; places in media contest

The 916th Public Affairs Office received accolades recently earning high awards in the 2012 Air Force Reserve Command Director's Excellence Awards and in the Air Force Reserve Command Media Contest.

The program took top honors winning the Brig. Gen. Harry J. Dalton Jr.  Award for the best overall program in support of the Air Force Mission. The public affairs office supported such initiatives as 'Operation Cookie Drop',' ISO Challenge 2012' and 'Where in the World is Wendy Lopedote' in 2012 which helped put them at the top of the leader board for best public affairs office.

In addition, they also won the Best Issues Management Award for their focus on the new KC-46 with their project titled "Fuel the Future."

In the media contest, the office had several 2nd and 3rd place showings to include:

Master Sgt. Wendy Lopedote - 3nd place for Sports Photograph
Tech. Sgt. Scotty Sweatt- 2nd place for Portrait Photograph
Senior Airman Meredith A.H. Thomas- 3rd place for News Feature
Maj. Shannon Mann- 3rd place for Commentary

While the Director's Excellence Awards did advance to the Air Force contest, the wing did not take any honors at level.
