Early release and delayed reporting authorized due to inclement weather

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --

Due to the threat of inclement weather, early release of Seymour Johnson AFB personnel will begin at 2 p.m., today, Jan. 17. Minimally-manned customer service support will be available until 4 p.m.

A delayed report time is authorized for tomorrow, Jan. 18. All personnel must report by 11 a.m., unless notified otherwise. All base support facilities, including the pharmacy and Child Development Center will open at 11 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather service remains in effect for central North Carolina through 9 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The 4th Operations Squadron Weather Flight is currently predicting 1-2 inches of snow and very cold temperatures impacting Seymour Johnson Air Force Base beginning early this afternoon and ending this evening. 

Please use caution while driving and be prepared for reduced visibility and travel difficulties. The latest road conditions can be found at DriveNC.gov.
