Lt. Col. Mark C. Thomas, Sr., Commander, 916th Mission Support Group, Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. In this position, Lt. Col. Thomas is responsible for supporting the mission of the 916th Air Refueling Wing through the Force Support Squadron, Security Forces Squadron, Logistics Readiness Squadron, and Civil Engineering Flight.
Lt. Col. Thomas entered the Air Force on February 7, 1983 and was commissioned through the Academy of Military Science on June 26, 1997. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and graduated with a degree in Professional Aeronautics. He acquired his Master’s degree through the University of Maryland University College in Space Systems Management. Lt. Col. Thomas was Active Duty for seven years, was a full-time member of the D.C. and Maryland Air National Guard before moving to the Air Force Reserve.
Lt. Col. Thomas worked for the Department of Health and Human Services as the Classification Program Manager for the Department. He has had two joint deployments – one to Djibouti as the Deputy Director, CJ4, and the other as the Director of Current Air Operations in the CENTCOM Deployment and Distribution Operations Center (CDDOC) in Kuwait. Prior to his current position, Lt. Col. Thomas was the Maintenance Staff Officer, HAF A4LM, Pentagon.
