Col Christopher J. Mohr, Commander, 916th Operations Group, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. In this capacity he is responsible for commanding three flying squadrons, along with the operational planning, training, and execution of the KC-46 Pegasus air refueling mission. Col Mohr is an instructor/evaluator pilot in the KC-46A Pegasus.

Previously, he served as the Commander of the 514th Operations Group, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. He was responsible for commanding six associate Reserve squadrons which conducted Airlift, Air Refueling, Aeromedical Evacuation, and Command & Control operations by more than 560 professional Airmen meeting national security objectives around the globe. Col Mohr oversaw and directly advised on the conversion from the unit flying the KC-10 into the KC-46A Pegasus. The first squadron’s conversion took one year, which was the fastest for any mobiity aircaft in Air Force Reserve Command’s history.

Col Mohr is a 1999 graduate of the University of Toledo where he was commissioned through Air Force ROTC. He began his career at Tinker AFB, Okla. as an Air Weapons Officer and Senior Director aboard the E-3 AWACS. During this assignment he directed over 200 strike aircraft during night one of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and coordinated the combat search and rescue of two downed Airmen. In 2004, he received a pilot slot from the Air National Guard in Pittsburgh, Pa. to fly the KC-135T. He transitioned into the reserves in 2010 to fly the KC-135R at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. where he deployed back overseas for various Operations to include ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, while also flying on back to back deployments in support of Operation ODYSSEY DAWN. He held many key positions within the wing, to include Chief of Operations Plans and Crisis Action Team Director. These two positions led him to earn a Superior Performer recognition in three different Nuclear Operation Readiness Inspections. Along with being an instructor/evaluator pilot in the KC-135, then Maj Mohr attended the Advanced Instrument School and Combat Air Tactics School while serving in this role. He attended the United States Air Force Weapons School in 2014 where he wrote a paper advising the need for and execution of a nuclear operations simulator profile for the KC-135 community. This simulator profile is still used today by Air Mobility Command.
