Higher education diplomas awarded to reservists

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C.--Staff Sgt. Bryce Kendall (middle) receives his associate's degree in mechanical and electrical technology from Col. Kendall is a reservist with the 916th Civil Engineer Squadron. Twelve reservists from the 916th Air Refueling Wing received their higher education degrees from the Community College of the Air Force during an official ceremony in which nearly 35 people attended. Graduations for CCAF students are held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. For more information on obtaining a degree through the CCAF program contact wing training at 722-2232.

Reservist meets Air Force legends

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C.-- Tech. Sgt. Yasheda Lyons (right), a member of the 916th Air Refueling Wing's Mission Support Flight, attended the Air Force Women's Training Symposium in early November. Sgt. Lyons met retired Chief Master Sgt. Dottie Holmes (left), the first woman with 30 years of active duty Air Force service while at the conference held in Springfield, VA. Sgt. Lyons listened to speakers from past and present talk about the challenges women face in today's military and how the roles are changing and barriers are being shattered by women in uniform. The 916th ARW supports this program yearly by sending a deserving Airman to represent the wing.

Reservist recognized for 20 years service

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Master Sgt. Hazel Proctor (right), a reservist with the 916th Air Refueling Wing, is presented with her 20-year certificate for federal service. Presenting Sgt. Proctor her honor is Maj. Gen. Montague Winfield, commander for U.S. Army Cadet Command. Sgt. Proctor has worked with the ROTC program for the past 13 years as enlisted strength manager. As a reservist she serves with 916th Mission Support Flight as their first sergeant.

Wing welcomes new member

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Tech. Sgt. Douglas Gunn, a reservist with the 916th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, works with his commander, Maj. Pete Wojihowski. Sgt. Gunn is new to the Reserve refueling wing and works as a personnel craftsman.
